Previo a Night of the Champions, la WWE vivió un momento histórico, durante la más reciente función televisada. Como parte del Monday Night RAW, Nikki Bella enfrentó a Charlotte, contienda que puso en juego el campeonato de las Divas de Bella.Pese a las condiciones que presume la estrella de NXT, Nikki salió victoriosa, contando con la ayuda de su hermana Brie y de Alicia Fox. Con su triunfo, Nikki Bella grabó su nombre en la historia de la compañía norteamericana, al convertirse en la Diva que más tiempo ha poseído el título de la división femenina de la WWE.Bella alcanzó los 296 días como monarca de las Divas, superando el anterior récord de AJ Lee, el cual constaba de 295 días como campeona. Tras superar esta marca, la gladiadora expondrá de nueva cuenta su título, ante Charlotte en Night of the Champions.

I made history! Your Longest Reigning Divas Champion in WWE History! Words can't even describe how I feel right now! I am so beyond blessed and honored! Tonight goes out to my Pop Pop.
